The same housing can be configured as a decorative windmill, a single-bellow aerator, or a double-bellow aerator—giving you the flexibility to adapt the system as your needs change.

Choose the Right Aeration Configuration

Single-Bellow Compressor

The single-bellow configuration is designed to aerate ponds up to approximately 2 acres when properly configured and installed.

Double-Bellow Compressor

The double-bellow configuration provides greater airflow and is designed for larger ponds up to approximately 4 acres when properly configured and installed.

Decorative Windmill

The bellows can be removed when aeration is not required, allowing the GEN-2 housing to function as a decorative windmill. The same housing can later be converted back to a single- or double-bellow aeration system.

Actual aeration requirements vary based on pond depth, shape, water conditions, diffuser placement, wind exposure, and other site-specific factors.

Selecting the Proper Windmill Height

Windmill height should be selected according to the installation location and surrounding wind obstructions. In a large, open area with strong wind exposure, a shorter tower can perform as effectively as a taller tower.

If trees, buildings, hills, or other obstructions surround the installation area, choose a taller tower to help place the fan in cleaner, less turbulent airflow. Whenever possible, install the windmill in an open location away from major wind obstructions.

Select the diffuser package that best matches your pond’s size, shape, and desired number of aeration locations.

Standard Diffuser Package

Recommended Diffuser Depth

For reliable operation in lighter winds, the combined operating depth of all connected diffusers should generally not exceed approximately 16 feet:

• One diffuser: up to approximately 16 feet deep
• Two diffusers: up to approximately 8 feet deep per diffuser
• Four diffusers: up to approximately 4 feet deep per diffuser

For most ponds, place diffusers at approximately half the pond’s maximum depth rather than automatically placing them in the deepest location. Proper placement helps circulate the water while reducing the risk of disturbing undesirable bottom sediment.

Installation Components

The components included with your order depend on the windmill model and diffuser package selected. Complete tower models include the windmill assembly and ground-mounting rods. Roof-mount and windmill-top-only configurations include the components appropriate for those selections.

The compressor can be positioned away from the pond by using properly sized airline. Installation distance, elevation, airline routing, diffuser depth, and the number of diffusers can affect overall system performance.

Five-Year Limited Warranty

The GEN-2 includes a 5-year limited warranty covering designated primary components, including the bellows, crankshaft, bearings, check valves, swivel hose connector, and 360-degree diffuser stones, subject to the complete warranty terms and exclusions.
