Pond Size Calculator

If you are unsure about the size and acreage of your pond, simply enter the measurements below, and this calculator will provide you with an approximate size. Knowing the dimensions of your pond will help you determine whether you require a Joe Mescan single bellow compressor or a double bellow compressor windmill.

Single or Double Bellow Compressor?

Aeration is among the most beneficial actions you can take for any pond. We recommend our single bellow compressor for ponds that are 2 acres or smaller. For larger ponds, our double bellow compressor is suitable for ponds up to 4 acres in size. It is crucial to understand that over-aeration is not an issue with our windmill pond aerators and inline air release valve, and installing a double pumper on a smaller pond will enhance the aeration results more rapidly.

One Diffuser or two ?

Standard Package
Deluxe Package

If your pond’s shape is round or oval, we recommend running a single diffuser towards the center. We suggest selecting the Standard Diffuser Package at checkout. However, if your pond is kidney or rectangle shaped, we advise using two diffusers, each positioned a third of the way in from each end. In this case, you should opt for the Deluxe Package during checkout. Please note: the output from the windmill is fixed; adding additional diffusers does not increase the windmill’s output, but rather divides the air volume. Additionally, it’s crucial to remember that the maximum recommended pumping depth for the windmill is 16 feet total, so when using two diffusers, it’s important to keep each diffuser at a depth of 8 feet or less.
